PACAU - Open-Door Cabinet

Open the door.
Take what you want.
Walk away.

PACAU is a different format than the other three brands. It is an open-door grab-and-go smart cabinet, not a glass-front cooler. Computer vision handles checkout. The 520 starts at $2,995.

Category Note

This is not a glass-front cooler.

HaHa, Grabot, and XMAI are glass-front AI coolers. You look through the glass, remove products, and walk away. PACAU is different. It is an open-door smart cabinet. The customer opens the door and browses the shelves directly, then closes the door. The AI vision system tracks what was removed and charges accordingly. Same AI checkout principle, different physical format.

This distinction matters when you are choosing a location. Open-door cabinets work well where browsing is part of the experience. Glass-front coolers work better where you want product display to do the selling before the door opens.

How It Works

Three steps. No app. No buttons.

The customer flow for an open-door PACAU cabinet is direct.

1. Swipe to enter

Customer taps or swipes a card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay on the reader. The door unlocks.

2. Pick what you want

Customer opens the door and takes products from the shelves. No scanning, no buttons, no app needed.

3. Close and go

Customer closes the door. The AI vision system registers what was taken and charges the payment method. Done.

PACAU questions, answered.

An open-door smart cabinet is a different product category from a glass-front AI cooler. Instead of looking through glass and having the machine dispense items, the customer opens the door, takes what they want from the shelves, and closes the door. The computer vision system tracks what was removed and charges the card on file. PACAU uses this format.
HaHa, Grabot, and XMAI are glass-front AI coolers. The customer views products through the glass and removes items without opening a full-access door. PACAU is an open-door cabinet. The customer opens the door and browses the shelves directly, like a refrigerator. Both formats use computer vision for checkout.
The PACAU 520 AI Open-Door Smart Cabinet is $2,995. It is the lowest-priced unit in the VAM lineup across all four cooler brands.
We are working to confirm the double-door SKU and specs directly with the manufacturer. Until that is confirmed we are publishing the single-door 520 only. Contact us if you specifically need the double-door configuration and we will update you when we have confirmation.
The open-door format works well in environments where browsing is part of the experience: offices, gyms, hotels, apartment common areas. It also allows for more product variety per unit than a glass-front door in some configurations. If you are not sure whether open-door or glass-front fits your location better, talk to us.
